Strathblane

The Brief

The brief was to relocate a dark small kitchen space at the north side of the house to form a light airy kitchen living space at the south side of the house for a growing family.

The Challenge

The challenge was to create an adequate amount of living space on a small area of flat ground above a steeply sloping garden. The extension is a simple flat roofed box with maximum amounts of glazing which optimizes light and view and gives the clients a more life enhancing space in which to spend most of the day. Materials used were sympathetic to the existing building.
