The proposal for a new house which nestles in the mature, wooded grounds of a B listed house has been granted planning permission.

The design had to be contemporary and low key so as not to detract from the main house. The form of the building nods to the typical asymmetric form of the many arts and crafts houses of Kilmacolm. One of the principal apartments is in the centre of the first floor. This apartment has been articulated on the elevations by a glazed first floor gable which has the feel of being high in a treehouse. It will be light and airy with views through the woods. The principle apartments on the entrance level are also located centrally and are filled with light. The fully glazed room provides the option to be opened up to the beautiful garden which will encourage outdoor – indoor living.

We are looking forward to developing the projects through the next stages.
