Design-focused and offering a comprehensive design service from concept through to completion, we work on building styles from traditional to contemporary, with conservation work, commercial buildings and Passivhaus projects on our books, too. Our core architectural team is hard-working and creative. We’re open and discuss ideas in the office, where you’ll experience and be involved in all aspects of a medium-sized architects and interiors practice. We are recruiting for an Operations Manager to join our friendly and talented team. This is a new post at Thomas Robinson Architects. The position is for 22.5 days a week 9.00am-5.30pm. The Operations Manager will be responsible for managing key operations as noted below and you will work closely with the directors and the team.
The Operations Manager role is to implement the correct processes and practices across the organisation. The specific duties of this position are noted below include the careful management of project objectives within the team. We are looking for an individual who will have genuine interest in architectural projects and someone who will support and enable us to deliver them successfully.
Undertaking key activities throughout the whole sales process, including producing bids and proposals and producing regular sales reports and records
Undertaking the coordination and production ofhigh-level project programming, time budgeting and project resourcing as directed
Monitoring projects against objectives throughout their lifecycle
Coordinating and monitoring resources against monthly practice and project objectives
Coordinating and monitoring project delivery against project programs
Supervising the implementation of processes
Necessary personal characteristics
A commercially minded individual with the ability to plan, organise and manage.
Exceptional problem-solving skills.
High level of communication skills
A team player with high levels of interpersonal skills
Discretion and sensitivity
Proven track record of managing in a project environment.
Project based experience is essential.
Previous employment in a professional services environment ideally in architects’ practice
A knowledge of the RIBA Plan of Work
