Construction, Design, and Management (CDM) - Principal Designer

We offer the new and required service of Principal Designer, to comply with Construction Design and Management Regulations of 2015.

A relatively new requirement on domestic residential builds, is to appoint a Principal Designer. We offer this service, to comply with the Construction Design and Management Regulations of 2015.

This is an additional Service to the Architectural Service and relates to the planning and management of health and safety issues during the design period and certain duties thereafter. It can be undertaken by any of the key design consultants on a project.

A principal designer is appointed by the client to take control of the pre-construction phase of any project involving more than one contractor.

Principal designers have an important role in influencing how risks to health and safety are managed throughout a project. Design decisions made during the pre-construction phase have a significant influence in ensuring the project is delivered in a way that secures the health and safety of everyone affected by the work.
