Condition Report
Condition Reports are useful decision making documents for clients. They may inform a decision to purchase a building.
Most often Condition Reports are undertaken for the purposes of defining repairs to be incorporated into a conservation or refurbishment project. Architectural conservation work and upgrading of historic and listed buildings is a speciality of Thomas Robinson Architects.
Our method of inspection and reporting involves a close examination of all of the building elements and then categorisation by priority in a way that can be budget costed.
The process of undertaking these reports enables the architect to gain a deep understanding of a building. Items such as chimneys, leadwork, slating, stonework, render, the condition of timber elements, ventilation, finishes, structure and services are all considered and other specialists may be introduced where required.
Often this is the first step in assisting a client with plans to improve or develop a building.
