the project

We are often asked to design contemporary interiors, for new build modern homes and also as new wings or extensions on more traditional buildings. Our interior design team can create contemporary interiors to suit many homes, yet always ensuring the whole makes sense and that there is flow throughout the design.

How we worked

Fiona Robinson, practice partner, leads the interior design team, and has an expert eye on creating interior spaces which flow well. As well as making the best use of natural light, often with extensive contemporary glazing, she ensures that the scale of each contemporary interior works. Some large open-plan interiors need careful thought so that they don’t feel cavernous or too empty. Rooms within the space are created, and furniture and interior architecture is used to delineate the use of different spaces. It must all feel joined however, with a continuous style.

Success of the project

A successful contemporary interior will always relate to the complete style of the house. Successful design doesn’t jar or sit uneasily with what is around it. We spend a lot of time making sure that our designs work in their environment and also for our clients, offering light, warm, comfortable and stylish places to live.
